Hello! My name is Jennifer Doehring.

I'm a German/Native American author-illustrator of children's books.

 

Born and raised on the West Coast, I received my fine art degree from the University of California- Irvine, and I went on to open my own art studio called Palette Passions, where I teach painting and drawing to students of all ages. My work is shown and sold in galleries locally and internationally, as well as online. 

​

I have a huge passion for travel. I enjoy learning about other cultures and have traveled to over thirty-five countries. I'm also quite obsessed with nature. If I'm being honest, I could live out in the wilderness in a tent and be perfectly happy. Backpacking is my favorite hobby and I try to incorporate all elements of nature I experience while traveling in my illustrations for children.

With both my writing and my art, I strive for humor and a touch of curious whimsy, knowing the world can throw plenty of struggle and worry our way. I believe that through funny, charming, and heartfelt illustrations and stories, I can connect with children and adults alike.

 

I'm represented by Sorche Fairbank of Fairbank Literary and am a member of the Society of Children's Books Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Authors Guild.
